Tyler started a blog and Chuck has him putting a bunch of his Cubscout requirements on there. That way he has a record of what he has done and his leaders can check on it and pass him off easily!

Mr. Paley has been the Principal at our elementary school since my kids started there in 2004. He is moving on to a new job opportunity! Good-Bye Mr. Paley!!! You will be missed!

We decided to renew our Phoenix Zoo Membership
when an offer came that we couldn't pass up.

Clean up after camping is always the WORST!!! Thanks G-ma/pa Melser for having the kids laundry done for me! It helped immensely!!!

We drove down to Thatcher to pick up the kids from Grandma and Grandpa Melsers house. We drove by and saw the construction on the LDS Temple going up really close to their house. How wonderful it will be for them to have a temple so close!

Two girls challenged Chuck to a firestarting contest. They also got President Leavitt in on the fun. The girls were both super excited when they BOTH beat Chuck... sorry babe if your pride is hurt!

Our family at the Grand Canyon. Our kids had never been and Chuck and I hadn't been since Nov 1997! It rained, so we didn't see all we wanted to, so we're planning a trip back soon!

Mom... we're bored! Ever heard that? When I heard that, I told my kids to get outside and be active. What can we do? Ah-ha!!! Turn on the sprinkler and jump on the trampoline! Super fun!

The funeral for Joey Eldon Mortensen was held today.
This man was loved and respected among many people!
What an inspiring funeral to attend!
This man will truly be missed by all who knew him!
I caught this tender moment of Vanessa
as we all sang Families Can Be Together Forever.
I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have that I will be
reunited with those who have gone on from this world...
it's such a comforting feeling.

Joey Eldon Mortensen passed away on May 15, 2009 and during the week before his funeral, these leather roses were made for his casket... they were so beautiful! So much love went into making these! I believe over 150 were made!

One fun thing with summer is swimming. One of our favorite places to go is to Grandma Mortensen's pool! There is a rock slide, a basketball hoop and a spa! Fun for everyone!

The Father's and Son's outing. This year Tyler took Dillon (a neighbor friend) with him. He had fun playing in the creek, swinging on the rope swing, fishing and hanging around! What a fun time he had with his dad! As a tradition, the boys go up on Thursday evening so they have all day Friday to play before heading home on Saturday.

What do the girls do when the boys go Father's and Son's??? PARTY!!! We went to the movies and saw Hannah Montana... we had the WHOLE theater to ourselves! I let the girls dance in the front aisle when they usually can't do that kind of thing in the theater! Then we went to lunch and SHOPPING!!! Super fun girls day! (Did I mention Maddy skipped school... yeah, I'm the COOLEST mom ever!!!)
