I got a piano piece to work on from Nichelle and I decided to test my talent at the violin. So I took out Tyler's violin (my old one from forever ago) and tried it out. I did OK at it. I did sound a bit squeaky (I took from 4th-6th grade), but I knew where all the notes were! It was fun. Maybe when I have more time (haahaa) I'll see about picking it up again!
You totally should! You would be surprised at how fast it will come back to you. Especially with as much music background as you have.
